A special commission appointed by Governor Branstad is recommending a 10-cent/gallon increase in the Iowa’s gasoline tax. The gas tax has been at 22-cents/gallon since 1989. The commission says a 10-cent increase would raise about $230 million in additional revenue that would be used for road projects.
