Fuzzy Thurston, who played on the Green Bay Packers teams that won Super Bowls I and II, is being forced to sell his championship ring from Super Bowl I to help pay a tax debt. Thurston owes more than $1.7 million in back taxes from a tax dispute that dates back to 1983. Federal authorities also want to sell Thurston’s ring from Super Bowl II, and his NFL championship rings from 1958, 1961, 1962 and 1965, but they’ve only taken possession of the Super Bowl I ring so far.
